Hello everyone I am Matthew and thank you for checking out my blog. I am 33 years old and live in a small town in Ontario, Canada. I currently work as a security guard for a local company. I enjoy reading investing and personal finance books, some of my favourites are RRSPs The Ultimate Wealth Builder by Gordon Pape, The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham and Stop Over-Thinking Your Money! by Preet Banerjee.
I began investing 13 years ago when I was 20 my parents were the ones that got me started. At that age I didn’t have a clue what an RRSP was or how to invest, so my investing career began by investing in mutual funds offered by my bank. After a few years I began taking an interest in investing and why it is important. In July 2014 I finally grew tired of paying high fees and not generating a great return on my investments, I decided to move my money into a brokerage account and invest on my own. My portfolio is made up of two accounts Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) and Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).
AT the beginning of 2016 I began to read investing blogs, and I have to say I am really enjoying them. They are a big reason why I have started this blog as they have inspired me to tell my story and journey through investing.
