Happy October everyone! Since it’s the start of a new month that means it’s time to share with you the dividends I received in September. September was a good month for my portfolio, I received the fourth highest amount of income for the year. Also the portfolio had a lot of dividend increases, which I will share with you later in the post.
My dividend income for September was $655.96, and I received this from 20 stocks and 1 ETF. Also since it was September I had all three of my accounts contribute. Here is the breakdown per account.
- RRSP $321.95
- TFSA $228.80
- LIRA $105.21
If you’re new to the site my RRSP is all in US dollars and all of my Canadian stocks sit in my TFSA and LIRA. When sharing with you the income I receive I don’t convert the US dividend income into Canadian for simplicity.

Income stayed above $300 which was nice to see after I removed Enbridge and Fortis. I received my very first dividend from Organon & Co, hopefully they can increase their dividend going forward. Most of the income amounts above are from purchases I made to start the year, this time next year it will be mostly through dividend increases so it will be interesting to see what the totals are.

Thanks Rob! I have a goal to get 50 shares of Lockheed, I’m currently sitting on 30 when I sold my Cdn stocks in RRSP in January that gave me the chance to buy more.

Excellent growing dividend income Matthew. I see that you hold positions with Lockheed Martin. How long have you been investing in them? We are looking at consolidating our portfolio and considering partnering with LMT once we offload some other positions.
Keep it up! You’re killing it.

Thanks! Started investing in LMT a couple years ago I think? I have a goal to own at least 50 shares. I currently own 30.

I had completely missed that Wealthsimple is doing fractional shares now. Thanks!
On another note, I have been considering investing in the Keg Royalty Fund, but the payout ratio is pretty high and the dividend growth seems poor. How do you feel about it going forward?

WealthSimple Trade offers 250 stocks available to buy in fractional shares.
As for The Keg I am just holding it to collect the dividend and to see whether the share price will go up to where I bought it.
As for the dividend it has yet to recover from where it was before the pandemic. They did increase it about 4 months ago. I wouldn’t look for much growth from this stock in the near future.
