December 2016 Income

Hello everyone and welcome to my favourite post, my final income post of 2016. Where did 2016 go?? time just flew by in my opinion. December was a much quieter month for me compared to November.

My investing portfolio is made up of two accounts the TFSA (Tax Free Savings Account) and the RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings Account). In the month of December I received a total of $287.58 in dividends. In my TFSA I received $94.48 and in my RRSP I received $193.10.

At the beginning of 2016 I set a goal of wanting to receive $3,500 in dividends. Well I can happily report that I achieved my goal and received a total of $3,570.11.

  1. Looks like an awesome month you had. You have it backwards though your best month is supposed to be the last month. Lol
In years past my best months were the in the first quarter of the year but added more this year so that should change going forward.
Awesome job on 3,500 recieved hopefully I can get there in a few years. Keep it up.

  2. Matthew, Awesome job of achieving your goal! That is the best feeling when you set out to achieve something challenging and then succeed! Nice work. What is your goal for 2017? I did not hit my 2016 goal unfortunately!

    Take care,

    1. Thank you for the nice comment. Sorry to hear you didn’t reach your goal stay positive. In 2017 I definitely have a goal of trying to reach $4,000 in dividend income, I’m not sure if I will have any other goals for investing. In personal finance I want to improve my savings and build up a emergency fund.
